“A meditation on the experience of the performer and their immersion within a performed moment.
This work continues my investigation into the possibilities of transcribing aspects of dance performance into site and time specific installation works.
Through capturing aspects of the dance and performance on video, moments that are ephemeral in performance, are distilled, expanded and given time and space to resonate.
The work invites the spectator to contemplate and engage in the experience of the choreographer and performer. To float, to drift and to sail in thoughts, actions and stillness.
To become immersed” – John Utans
